Whoa! Surprise! I guess you're curious about organic, free-range music. I'm all too happy to inform you. These days, people think of music as they do any free commodity. Lots of us keep a radio or i-pod going all the time. Music is the background for our lives. It's a powerful force that acts on many parts of the brain, but know this: Most of the music you listen to is digitized just past the microphone on its way into the mixing board. Once converted to digital format it undergoes quantization, re-harmonization and mixing with sources that no real instrument on earth can reproduce. It's equalized, compressed, packaged and delivered to you almost as widely available as the air you breathe. While it's technically perfect, it isn't always "real". A lot of exciting recordings could never be reproduced in a live setting. And there's a place for "Lab Quality" music. One can hardly avoid it. It extrudes, as homogenous as toothpaste, right into your ears. Questions? please contact us! |
